Reminder about the upcoming Rainbow Kehilah celebrity talk event...

Mark Dapin to chat with Rainbow Kehilah - Sunday 9th August

Appearing at this year's Byron Bay Writers Festival, Mark Dapin will be having an informal chat with us.

Mark Dapin is a journalist, author, editor and lecturer. Winner of Excellence in Education Journalism Award Best feature (print media) (Good Weekend, 'Deaf, and Proud', 21/8/04)

He writes features and a weekly column for Good Weekend magazine and, in another life, was editor-in-chief of the lads' magazine Ralph. His latest book, Strange Country, is a travel memoir that includes his attempt to retrace the journey of Isaac Nachman Steinberg, the Russian Social Revolutionary who hoped to found a Jewish homeland in the Kimberley. His first novel, to be published in October, traces the rise of a Jewish gangster in Kings Cross.

Be prepared to enjoy a shared meal followed by entertaining talk. And Mark is definitely entertaining!

We're having a shared casual dinner before the talk.

Please bring main-course or savoury plate (enough for you and your guests) and soft drinks.

Note: no pork, shellfish or non-kosher animals or seafood. If in doubt, bring vegetarian!

7:30pm, Sunday, 9th August, 2009, Suffolk Park (address given on booking)
