Reminder about the upcoming Rainbow Kehilah celebrity talk event... Mark Dapin to chat with Rainbow Kehilah - Sunday 9th August Appearing at this year's Byron Bay Writers Festival, Mark Dapin will be having an informal chat with us. Mark Dapin is a journalist, author, editor and lecturer. Winner of Excellence in Education Journalism Award Best feature (print media) (Good Weekend, 'Deaf, and Proud', 21/8/04) He writes features and a weekly column for Good Weekend magazine and, in another life, was editor-in-chief of the lads' magazine Ralph. His latest book, Strange Country, is a travel memoir that includes his attempt to retrace the journey of Isaac Nachman Steinberg, the Russian Social Revolutionary who hoped to found a Jewish homeland in the Kimberley. His first novel, to be published in October, traces the rise of a Jewish gangster in Kings Cross. Be prepared to enjoy a shared meal followed by entertaining talk. And Mark is definitely entertaining! We're having a shared casual dinner before the talk. Please bring main-course or savoury plate (enough for you and your guests) and soft drinks. Note: no pork, shellfish or non-kosher animals or seafood.
